Tonight’s recital by baritone Brian Mulligan and pianist Timothy Long at the Kennedy Center will not go ahead as planned. The presenter, Vocal Arts DC, announced today that it has postponed this concert to an as yet unspecified date, because of the singer’s “unforeseen illness.”

“As soon as more information becomes available,” the brief announcement continues, “we will communicate further with ticket holders and will post information on our website. We are sorry for any inconvenience this causes and appreciate your understanding.”

The American baritone was to have performed Dominick Argento’s song cycle From the Diary of Virginia Woolf and the world premiere of Walden, a new song cycle by Gregory Spears.
