The pioneering INSCAPE Chamber Orchestra often combines old and new music in curious ways. Its new program puts together Saint-Saëns’ Carnival of the Animals, a chamber orchestra arrangement of Mahler’s Symphony  No. 4, and Dale Trumbore’s All the Folded Wings on the free concert series of the National Gallery of Art 3:30 p.m. Sunday.

Many distinguished harpsichordists are visiting Washington this week. The youngest among them, Jean Rondeau, will give what promises to be a stirring, eclectic performance of Bach’s Goldberg Variations. The recently founded boutique series Capriccio Baroque presents this concert in a new venue, the Woodend Mansion in Chevy Chase, 4:30 p.m. Sunday.
