If you are a fan of chamber music, and of the piano trio in particular, this is the week for you. The Library of Congress presents one of the best piano trios in the world, the Vienna Piano Trio, in a free concert 2 p.m. Saturday. On tap are familiar trios by Haydn (Hob. XV:20) and Brahms (Trio No. 2), but the chance to hear a piano trio arrangement of Schoenberg’s Verklärte Nacht should not be missed.

The concert series at the Phillips Collection will present the local debut of the Smetana Trio 4 p.m. Sunday. This leading Czech piano trio will perform the Op. 3 Piano Trio by Zemlinsky and the first essays in the form by Shostakovich and Mendelssohn. While the museum renovates its Music Room, it has moved the concert series to guest venues. The International Student House of Washington DC will host this concert.
